Not marco of the project of research STRAUSS (Efectos of the ondas oceanic not system of afloramento of the Rías Baixas: dynamic of the superficie in studies of casos biolóxicos seleccionados), the IIM-CSIC desenvolveu dous dispositivos for measure the movemento of high frecuencia of boias and bateas of mussel. Ambos the dispositivos electrónicos, utilizan inertial measurement units (IMU) implementadas on a shelf Arduino with capacity of rexistro and transmisión of data (GPRS). Mediante this project esperamos improve the algoritmos and the procesamento of data, that allow transformar the sinais IMU in parámetros that definan the ondulación of the ocean and the movementos resultantes in estruturas flotantes, both boias as bateas, that, in final instancia, producen mussel detachments and problems for the sector of the aquaculture. The our objective is coñecer the réximes of ondulación in the Rías Baixas and their effect in the dynamic current, así as their impact not ecosystem.

The objective main deste work of master’s degree is develop a model dynamic dun process of fermentación not contexto of the concepto of Biorrefinería Mariña. Considerarase a tipo of cepa bacteriana probiótica and produtora of ácido láctico. In relación to the substratos, and in basis to the concepto of Biorrefinería Mariña, traballaremos with sources ricas in azucres - glicosa - (as efluentes xerados in the cocción industrial of mussels) and sources ricas in nitrogen orgánico - peptonas - (obtidas of subproductos of the pesca and aquaculture). Will be carried out the experimentación the escala laboratorio. The deseños experimental estudarán the effect combinado of the temperatura and different concentracións of substratos (glicosa and peptonas) on the cinética of the crecemento bacteriano and the produción simultánea of metabolitos. Finalmente, adaptaremos modelos dinámicos, previously desenvolvidos, for predicir and optimizar the process of fermentación.
Requirements: Applicants must be in posesión dun bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology, Engineering of Bioprocesos, Bioenxeñería, Engineering chemical or Bioquímica. It is required a grade minimum of 7.00.

The common octopus (Octopus vulgaris) is a of the marine species of greater importancia económica not world, moi apreciada as food and currently obxecto dunha pesca extractiva active. The their farming bear a large potential in the diversificación of the aquaculture and recentemente cultivouse with éxito in systems experimental. Many of the partes of the body of the marine species elimínanse before of chegar to the consumidor end as subproductos for improve the conservación, reducir the peso of the envío and aumentar the quality of the produto. The subproductos comúns of the octopus atraeron moito the atención recentemente debido to the descubrimento of the presenza of varios compounds bioactivos relevant. In particular, in the mucosidade of the pel, así as in the tinta, were descritas propiedades antimicrobianas and antioxidantes between outras, xogando a role crucial not mecanismo of defensa animal and actuando as barreira contra a ampla variedade of axentes of stress (químico, físico and biolóxico).
Studies previos levados the cabo not our group utilizando aproximacións proteómicas shotgun seguidas of análises bioinformáticos in-silico, permitiron the identification of péptidos bioactivos not moco of the pel and the tinta of the common octopus. Propoñemos a study of selection deses potenciais biopeptides and of sínteses of biomoléculas candidates seguido dunha analysis funcional for evaluate the capacity destes péptidos as axentes antibacterianos, antivirais and antitumorais. For iso, will be used the péptidos sintéticos seleccionados for levar the cabo ensaios mirobiolóxicos in vitro, studies of activity enzimática antioxidante, así as ensaios of proliferación celular and quimiotácticos. Conseguir a application for descartes of the pesca/cría of octopus, contribuirá significativamente the meet the objectives of pesca and aquaculture sostibles and will be of interest for the identification of novos subproductos marine with propiedades farmacolóxicas bioactivas.

The objective main deste Master’s Thesis is poñer the punto a innovadora methodology that will allow obter estimas of genetic diversity in marine species usando samples of water. The ADN ambiental of samples of water of sea contén ADN of different species, but also of different individuals dunha mesma especie. Of this maneira, this technical potencialmente offers the posibilidade of evaluate both the diversidade of species as the genetic diversity within of species. In this project usaremos the xen mitocondrial Citocromo C oxidasa subunidad I (COI) that was amplamente usado for analysis filogenéticos (different species), as in xenética of populations (genetic diversity within of species). In addition, currently disponse of technicians of sequencing that allow obter secuencias completas (ex. PacBIO long-reads sequencing) of the COI (haplotipos) and of this maneira estimas of genetic diversity of the species contidas on a mostra ambiental (metaxenomas). The project consta dunha parte of work of laboratorio: extracción of ADN, amplificación by PCR of the COI of different individuals and species of fish that will be usados as controis; and a parte bioinformática that involucrará procesar the secuencias obtidas of the sequencing of the ADN ambiental.
Requirements: Applicants must be in posesión dun bachelor’s degree on a materia relevante (is that is, Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biology Mariña, Bioinformática). Valoraranse knowledge baticos of technicians molecular (extracción of ADN, PCR) and/or knowledge baticos of bioinformática (Blast). It is required a grade minimum of 7.00.

The objective main deste work of fin of matter is improve the anotación of secuencias codificantes of proteínas not new hake genome (Merluccius merluccius) that is the producir currently the our group of research. Yet that the número of xenomas secuenciados creceu exponencialmente us últimos anos, yet hai a large brecha between the dispoñibilidade of secuencias xenómicas completas and xenomas completos anotados with algún bachelor’s degree of fiabilidade. The sequencing of transcriptomas of different tecidos improvement notablemente the anotación of the xenomas, aportando more veracidade and fiabilidade at análises that realizarán the posteriori with eles. Especialmente, the análises relacionadas with the adaptación of species of fish the different ambientes requiren a level more fino of anotación of the secuencias codificantes of proteínas debido to the alto bachelor’s degree of duplicación xenética that sufriron the xenomas of the fish óseos durante their evolution. This project is part of the Acción Marie Curie FishAdapt, that bear as objective evaluate the potential of adaptación to the change climate in species of interest pesqueiro.

The impact of the research must traducirse in beneficios económicos, environmental, sociais and culturais that contribuen to the progreso and to the transformación social cara the escenarios more sostibles and territorios more resilientes. Not ámbito of the sciences marine, the promoción of the ocean literacy, the scientific culture and the prácticas participativas between axentes sociais and outros colectivos, are elementos esenciais for catalizar the potential transformador of the knowledge scientific. Not obstante, the intervencións exitosas precisan dunha linguaxe común and a marco teórico batico that permita optimizar the fluxo of knowledge and the apropiación social of the research. The/the candidato/the selected/the contribuirá the pechar the brecha between the system of I+D+i and the society, contribuíndo the conceptualizar a Marco of Management of the Knowledge Marine transversal and especificamente adaptado at singularidades of the contorno sociocultural, económico, institucional and of innovación of the Community Autónoma of Galicia. Centrado not patrimonio cultural galego related with the pesca, this work incluirá a revisión exhaustiva of the literatura and the implantación of metodoloxías deliberativas for identificar the bases of the knowledge tradicionais the incluír within the framework of Management of the Knowledge of the Sea the develop.
Requirements: Applicants must be in posesión dun bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biology Mariña, Sciences Environmental, Sciences Sociais, Xornalismo or calquera outra disciplina relevante. It is required a grade minimum of 7.00.
