The microalgae are a group heterogéneo of organizations eucariotas unicelulares that have evolucionado, considerando their composición pigmentaria, in of the grandes linajes, denominados genéricamente verde and rojo.

The extraordinaria haptophyta picoplanctónica Picocystis salinarum incorpora pigmentos característicos of ambos linajes, in a aparato fotosintético in the that coexisten Clorofila b and Violaxantina (típicos of algae verdes) with the carotenoides Diatoxantina, Aloxantina and Monadoxantina (característicos of the line roja). Poco sabe of the role of these pigmentos in the fotofisiología (fotocaptación, fotoprotección) of this especie.

The ciclos of xantofila (XC) have demostrado be the main contribuyentes the the fotoaclimatación of the organizations fotosintéticos marine. In this project training estudiará a until ahora desconocido XC that parece operar in P. salinarum involucrando at xantofilas Monadoxantina and Diatoxantina.

For ello, P. salinarum cultivará in conditions controladas of luz (intensidad, quality and fotoperiodo) and temperatura. tomarán samples of cultures the luz high and the luz low (and tras the transición between these conditions lumínicas), the densidad celular estimará by citometría of flujo and the rendimiento fotosintético monitorizará by fluorescencia of pulsos of amplitud modulada (PAM). The pigmentos identificarán and cuantificarán by cromatografía líquida (HPLC) acoplada the espectroscopía visible and the espectrometría of masas (HPLC-MS). Will be preciso develop new methods cromatográficos adaptados the the especial composición pigmentaria of the especie.

The limpieza and desinfección of alimentos is a process crítico for guarantee seguridad food. Alimentos of IV gama as frutas and verduras suelen consumirse without ningún tratamiento térmico of cocinado, lo that obliga the asegurar a correcta inactivación of the possible pathogens in the food. A problema similar of the, by ejemplo, in the depuración of mollusks as the mussel.

These procesos of limpieza and desinfección, without however, are diseñados in the industria the basis of experimentación, without grant of modelos that puedan be optimizados for encontrar the parámetros of operación óptimos. A ejemplo of optimization interesante is the minimizar the dosificación of higienizante that asegure inactivación of the pathogens. This reto radica in the large complejidad of the modelos necessary, that must combinar dynamic of fluids with dynamic of inactivación of pathogens.

In this work aims to modelar mediante dynamic of fluids a tanque of limpieza with the without higienizante that luego simulará, the incluso optimizará, for obtener the mejores parámetros of operación for guarantee seguridad food. The model implementará in Comsol, asegurando a correcta resolución numérica. The optimization hará bien simulación in Comsol the mediante the generación of data that puedan be utilizados for develop a model of order reducido in MATLAB that luego sea optimizado. In this final caso probarán both the uso of optimizadores local in MATLAB as fmincon as globales basados in algoritmos genéticos as Differential Evolution.

The rías gallegas albergan a large biodiversidad ligada in large medida the the elevada variability of ambientes costeros and of the conditions oceanográficas existentes in their interior, asociada principalmente to the bachelor’s degree of exposición/protección frente to the oleaje exterior and the the influence of the descargas fluviales. In this propuesta plantea the study of distribución of different species bentónicas siendo many of ellas of elevado valor ecológico and socio-económico as the mollusks bivalves infaunales (almejas, berberechos, navajas, etc.). The main objective is comprar the patrones of distribución espacial of these populations with the variability of the régimen of oleaje and with the tipología of the sedimento presente in these fondos.

The student aplicará varias metodologías for comparar the distribución of the populations of species bentónicas with the hidrodinámica ligada to the oleaje within the rías. For ello utilizará systems of information geográfica (GIS) for integrar the information existente in the bases of data oficiales and in publicaciones scientific centrándose in the localización of the populations of interest and in the tipología of the sedimento of these zonas. Complementariamente, familiarizará with the extracción and analysis of salidas of modelos numéricos of oleaje mediante lenguaje of programación tipo Matlab for obtener variables of altura and period of ola. By final, mediante technicians estadísticas buscará possible correlaciones espaciales between the patrones of distribución of the species and the variability in the hidrodinámica and tipo of sedimento.

Aproximadamente the mitad of toda the production primaria of the globo has lugar in the ocean, donde the phytoplankton the conjunto of algae microscópicas that flotan libremente in the superficie of the sea, are the main responsables of the fijación fotosintética of carbon. The production of oxígeno and materia orgánica fotosintetizada viene condicionada by the structure and composición of the community fitoplanctónica.

Así, conoce that the phytoplankton of pequeño tamaño domina in zonas oligotróficas of the ocean, in donde the fijación of carbon encuentra limitada by the disponibilidad of nutrientes and the materia orgánica fotosintetizada destina to the mantenimiento of the microbial plankton community. In these aguas, the community microbiana tiende hacia the balance metabólico between production and respiración, debido the the low production primaria and the relativa greater importancia of the respiración bacteriana.  By the contrario, in zonas costeras, the elevada disponibilidad of nutrientes allows altos niveles of production primaria, atribuibles to the phytoplankton of greater tamaño. These zonas suelen presentar a balance metabólico netamente autotrófico and with exceso of materia orgánica, potencialmente transferible the niveles tróficos superiores. Not obstante, this dicotomía falla the escalas more pequeñas, dada the elevada variability ambiental muy especialmente in zonas of afloramiento coastal. The episodios of afloramiento and relajación típicos introducen a large variability in the aporte of nutrientes, determinando that the microbial plankton community fluctúe between the own of mares oligotróficos and the of mares eutróficos, pasando by different situaciones possible between these of the extremas.

In the afloramiento of the Noroeste of the península Ibérica varios studies muestran the existencia of a large variedad of comunidades planctónicas microbianas asociadas the different conditions environmental. Not obstante, casi todos these studies are dirigidos the caracterizar the variability temporal. In this study propone determine the variability espacial, mediante observaciones with of the boyas of deriva; a lanzada cerca of the costa, donde the aporte of nutrientes is elevado, and otra siguiendo water oceánica with pocos nutrientes. In ambos ambientes caracterizará the structure, composición and metabolism of the comunidades planctónicas microbianas. The Dr. Francisco G. Figueiras colaborará in the address of this work with potencialidad of TFG the TFM.

The microARNs circulantes (C-miARNs) are pequeñas molecules of ARN not codificante altamente conservadas that orquestan a amplia gama of procesos biological the through of the regulación post-transcripcional of the expresión génica. A aspecto interesante of the identification of these molecules as biomarcadores proviene of expresión both temporal as espacial finamente regulada, their secreción from the células to the environment extracelular and their high estabilidad in the fluids corporales. All these características confieren the the C-miRNA the potential of convertirse in a valiosa herramienta not invasiva for measure the welfare and the health of the animals.
