Biosistemas e Ingeniería de Bioprocesos
Desde el modelado matemático y la simulación por ordenador hasta el diseño, control y optimización de bioprocesos y sistemas biológicos.
El mundo que nos rodea puede explicarse en gran medida entendiendo los sistemas que lo componen y los procesos que los conectan.
El Grupo de Biosistemas e Ingenieria de Bioprocesos del IIM-CSIC trabaja para desarrollar nuevos métodos y herramientas (fundamentalmente software) orientados a la ingeniería de sistemas de procesos que permitan la simulación, optimización y control de bioprocesos, tales como los implicados en el procesado y la conservación de alimentos y en la biotecnología industrial.
El grupo aplica métodos de ingenería de sistemas de procesos para mejorar la eficiencia de procesos industriales clave, reduciendo así su impacto medioambiental y mejorando la calidad y seguridad de sus productos.
El objetivo de su estudio es la identificación de modelos y la optimización, monitorización y control robusto de los sistemas dinámicos no lineales, incluidos los sistemas de parámetros distribuidos (convección-difusión-reacción). El grupo contempla un amplio espectro de aplicaciones, fundamentalmente la gestión de pesquerías, el procesado, la calidad y la seguridad de los alimentos (incluida la resistencia a agentes antimicrobianos) y la biotecnología industrial.
