Description

The Institute of Marine Research of CSIC of Vigo (IIM-CSIC) offers 8 grants for carry out Master’s Thesis projects (TFMs) not marco of the Grants JAE Intro ICUs 2023.

The purpose of these grants is to start the research career through the paid training stay during the academic year 2023-2024 in centros of CSIC.

The work of this offers levará the cabo using samples obtidas in the mostraxes of the project on this especie currently in development (Project CONECTEE).  The application of metodoloxías of metatranscriptómica, will allow coñecer the transcriptome and the microbioma basal of this especie. This work incrementará the knowledge of the biology and ecology of this raia, and proporciona information on the relación between state transcriptómico basal, the microbioma and the ecology espacial, así as the environmental factors.

The reprodución of the mussel is a evento natural and necessary of expulsión of gametos sexuais (masculinos and femininos) to the environment for their posterior fecundación. Na actualidade, existen sistemas de monitoring of high frecuencia and not invasivos (chamado, polas súas siglas in English, HFNI) that allow caracterizar the ciclos of apertura-peche valvar of the bivalves with large detail as indicador of the behavior in relación the numerosas funcións vitais of the body (fisioloxía) así as respecto the changes abióticos and biolóxicos of the environment.

O desenvolvemento inicial deste monitoring permitiu determine that the mussel in situación of farming mantén their valvas abertas the greater parte of the tempo (98%) yet habendo a elevada variability not environment abiótico (temperatura, salinidade, dispoñibilidade of food…).

The work desenvolvido in this project aims to caracterizar the behavior valvar of the mussel durante the eventos of desova cun sinal específico that permita usar this tecnoloxía as system of alerta temperá, así as determine the incidencia of environmental factors clave (temperatura and dispoñibilidade of food) in the reprodución and the desova, and possible disrupcións in this process reprodutivo. Disrupcións that can affect to the eficiencia of the reprodución and of the desova, así as to the posterior recrutamento of populations naturais by parte of the industria acuícola.

The FPH recentemente comezaron the usarse for improve the crecemento of different species of fish with resultados notables, but yet not produciron, probado and avaliado cun enfoque multidisciplinar that inclúe the application of technicians fisiolóxicas, engineering chemical, bioquímica, biology molecular and technicians metagenómicas of final xeración.

The enfoque that is desenvolvendo from the IIM, in colaboración with the UVigo, IEO-CSIC and the USC, inclúe the produción of the FPH and the response integrada of the farming of rodaballo the these hidrolizados, baseándose in aspectos as the apetencia, the perfís nutricionais, the crecemento animal, the integridade of the tracto dixestivo and the characterization of the microbiota intestinal.

In this study, investigaremos the dynamic temporal of the microbiota of the common octopus, rastrexando the changes in their community microbiana durante the period of senescencia of the octopus, cando the femias morren pouco despois of the apareamento. For comprender this process, is necessary comprender the genetic diversity, fisiolóxica, metabólica and especialmente ambiental impartida and compartida polos microorganisms that cohabitan.

The diversidade espacial and temporal substancial of the microbiomas animais not só is dynamic senón the miúdo predicible, the that the converte in indicadores potenciais of varios factores intrínsecos and extrínsecos. These microorganisms inflúen, by a banda, in the predisposición to the health and the enfermidade and, doutra banda, xogan a role fundamental not process of descomposición.

By both, the hypothesis that will explore in this project is that the period that surrounds the death of the host plays a role important in the ecology of the microbiota of the host and in the evolution both of the host as of their microorganisms.

The hemocitos are presentes in all the cavidades of the invertebrates marine by the that circula the hemolinfa. The modeling abordará the level of población, utilizando modelos ecológicos for identificar tipos of interacciones (cooperativas the antagónicas). Proponemos identificar the miembros centrales of the microbioma and construiremos modelos matemáticos ecológicos (tipo Lotka-Volterra generalizado) for contextualizar the data metagenómicos obtenidos in laboratorio in diversas conditions.

As resultado, obtendremos information preliminar on the tipos of interacciones of the species bacterial seleccionadas and the host. All ello conducirá the desarrollos posteriores in the that abordaremos modelos metabólicos the escala genómica.

The factores responsables of the éxito of the recrutamento us cephalopods dependen principalmente of the interaccións between the fases of masa of ovos, subadultos recentemente nados and pre-recrutados and the environment physics and biolóxica that prevalece durante each fase. By both, débese salientar the censos of paralarvas, already that are fundamentais for study the distribución, biology, áreas of desova and structure poboacional of the cephalopods. With all, the samples relativamente pequenas obtidas and the súas distribucións irregulares seguían sendo the main limitacións us studies of paralarvas silvestres.

The finais of the 90 and principios of the 2000, the studies directos of paralarvas planctónicas and their response to the variation oceanográfica eran escasos in comparación with outras larvas of invertebrates and fish. The studies more completos of the historia of life temperá of the cephalopods levaron the cabo in augas xaponesas, and not Atlántico noroccidental, onde find the greater abundancia of species planctónicas. From entón, the studies realizados in Galicia supuxeron a of the main achegas worldwide on the understanding of the relación between the parámetros oceanográficos and the larvas of cephalopods, especialmente Octopus vulgaris.

 Durante the dúas últimas décadas lideramos seven projects multidisciplinares that proporcionaron the primeiros data of the marcos meteorolóxicos, físicos and bioxeoquímicos not hábitat of the paralarvas of cephalopods, on a zona of importancia pesqueira (caladoiro of the Illas Cíes, fronte to the Vigo Ría). The mostraxes oceanográficas and biolóxicas realizados durante these projects realizáronse in colaboración with numerosos researchers nacionais and internacionais, the that permitiu desentrañar algúns aspectos of the relación between the primeiras etapas of life of the cephalopods and the parámetros físicos, químicos and biolóxicos on a of the main rexións pesqueiras of Europe. A of the pezas for complete within of the ecology of the octopus is the fase previous to the asentamento of the larvas of octopus and their marco oceanográfico.

The persoa for incorporar encargarase of analyze and correlacionar the abundancia and of the samples of octopus and of zooplancton obtidas durante the campaña ECOSUMA the bordo of the Sarmiento of Gamboa, included the parasitos that atopen nelas, with the conditions oceanográficas that prevaleceron durante the period of study. By outra banda, contribuirá to the biobancarización destas samples and their data asociados.
