Management and Administration Services
It would be impossible to fulfill our work in research and innovation and our commitment to society without the help of professionals who ensure the maintenance and care of our information technologies, aquariums, equipment and facilities. This is the task of our General Services.
Units:
Research Groups and Areas
The scientific core of the Institute, organized by areas of knowledge.
Research groups are the fundamental research and innovation units of the Institute of Marine Research. Our fourteen groups highlight one of the IIM’s main strengths: its multidisciplinary character, which enables a continuous exchange of knowledge between different fields of marine research, from the study of oceanic and coastal systems to biosystems and bioprocesses linked to the food industry and circularity.
Technical and Support Units
The Scientific and Technical Support Unit (UACT) aims to provide greater coordination, operability and visibility for the research support resources offered by the Institute of Marine Research.
This unit comprises a total of 15 laboratories, whose mission is to offer scientific and technical advice and services to the Institute’s research groups. Most of them offer their capabilities to the public and to private organizations that request them.
Laboratory staff specialize in the techniques offered, while the instruments are adapted to the latest technologies and are constantly updated.

As a research institute focused on innovation, in addition to these services we also have other innovation capabilities that may fit your objectives.
