Outreach initiatives

Science communication also takes place through initiatives driven by researchers at the IIM-CSIC. Books, articles, podcasts, interviews, documentaries, exhibitions and projects that bridge science and culture are just some of the ways in which knowledge is shared beyond the academic sphere.

The IIM-CSIC wishes to recognise the outreach work carried out by its research community and to broaden the reach of the scientific knowledge generated at the Institute, thereby fostering dialogue between science and society and promoting a greater understanding of the role of the oceans on our planet.

This section brings together and highlights initiatives from our research community which, through a variety of formats and languages, enable the sharing of knowledge and experiences, spark an interest in science and bring marine research closer to the public. They also help to highlight the importance of the oceans, explain their influence on our daily lives and raise awareness of the main environmental and social challenges associated with them.
