Santiago de Compostela, Thursday, 28 September 2023. The Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), through its research institutes and with the collaboration of the Scientific Culture Unit of its Delegation in Galicia, is taking part in the “European Researchers’ Night”, an event that will be held tomorrow, Friday, simultaneously across Europe.
The event, held annually since 2005 on the last Friday of September, is funded by the European Union and seeks to bring research and researchers closer to society.
The initiatives organised by the CSIC in Galicia will take place in Santiago de Compostela, Vigo and Madrid, with activities linked to marine science, scientific culture and the work carried out at CSIC centres.
From Galicia, the IIM-CSIC participates through Ocean Night, a project that connects several CSIC marine research centres and promotes activities that show the importance of the ocean and marine sciences for society.
The programme includes outreach events, meetings with researchers and cultural activities designed for different audiences, with the aim of making visible the people who work in science and the value of publicly funded research.
