In a country like ours, with more than 7,800 km of coastline and a history, culture and economy closely linked to the ocean, marine sciences and technologies are called upon to play an important role. Marine research has a long tradition in our country and a body of researchers who, from different institutions, carry out research work that stands out, for its quality, among Spanish scientific contributions.
