PEACHESEA: Ocean Acidification Analysis

Description

The Ocean Acidification Analysis (PEACHESEA) service is aimed at companies, particularly those in the aquaculture sector, as well as research staff and other national and international institutions interested in monitoring acidification conditions in natural waters, especially seawater.

Both the methodology and the precision and accuracy of the determinations carried out by this service have been validated in international intercomparison exercises organised by the reference laboratory for this type of analysis, the Marine Physical Laboratory (Scripps Institution of Oceanography, University of California, San Diego), which also manufactures and distributes certified calibration standards worldwide.

The Global Ocean Data Analysis Project (GLODAP) has also validated the levels of precision and accuracy obtained by the team responsible for this service through numerous national and international campaigns.

Objectives and tasks

It has been designed to offer a comprehensive ocean acidification observation service. Thus, in addition to analytical services, it offers comprehensive environmental observation services, from advice or the mobilisation and handling of observation instruments to laboratory experiments in controlled environments.

Portfolio of services

  • ALKALINITY ANALYSIS IN SEAWATER
  • SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC pH ANALYSIS IN SEAWATER
  • pH OBSERVATION IN AQUATIC SYSTEMS
