Description

Organising scientific knowledge to make it accessible to everyone is a complex task that requires professionals with extensive training and broad expertise.

The Library Service of the Institute of Marine Research is the team responsible for these tasks. The service operates as a public-access library with a broad catalogue of publications, both on paper and in digital format, which are easily accessible through its digital catalogue.

You can also access CSIC's open repository (Digital.CSIC), a source of open-access publications for anyone outside the centre.

The Institute's collection includes several titles focused on the IIM's research interests, such as Oceanography, Fisheries, Aquaculture, Marine Ecology and Chemistry and Technology of Seafood Products, as well as images and titles that serve as an archive of the IIM's historical and scientific past.

In addition to preserving the collection, the Library and Documentation Service staff ensure access to the information and documentation required to carry out studies, teaching, research and knowledge activities in the different scientific disciplines related to marine research.

They also support research and technical staff in updating their publications and scientific profiles in different databases, both internal (ConCiencia, Digital.CSIC, etc.) and external (WoS, Scopus, etc.), and facilitate access to programmes that promote open access to information, following the Institutional Open Access Mandate and with the support of the CSIC Open Access Publishing Support Programme.

If you are part of the IIM-CSIC staff, check the full catalogue of services on the IIM Intranet.
