The Institute of Marine Research (IIM-CSIC) invites everyone to celebrate Science and Technology Week with us at an Open Day that will take place on Thursday, 21 November 2024. Guided visits will be offered in different time slots between 10:00 and 19:00. Choose the time that suits you best!

During the event, visitors will have the unique opportunity to visit our laboratories, corridors, aquariums and other spaces, getting closer to our work in marine research. Through guided visits lasting approximately 90 minutes, our scientific and technical staff will show some of the research carried out at our centre. There will also be practical demonstrations by our staff.

General visit with Spanish Sign Language (LSE) interpretation!

11:30 – 13:00

This visit does NOT include LSE interpretation.

13:00 – 14:30

This visit does NOT include LSE interpretation.

This visit includes LSE interpretation! 

17:30 – 19:00

Important details and recommendations for the visit.

• Footwear: We recommend wearing comfortable, non-delicate shoes, as for safety reasons visitors will need to pass through disinfection footbaths when entering certain areas of the centre.
• Accessibility: The visits from 10:00 – 11:30 and from 16:00 – 17:30 will include Spanish Sign Language (LSE) interpretation. Please indicate on the registration form if you require this service.
• Mobility limitations: Due to the characteristics of some spaces, unfortunately we will not be able to provide access for wheelchair users.

Punctuality and attendance registration

IIM-CSIC is an active research centre, so punctuality is essential to avoid interfering with the work of the research teams. We recommend arriving at the Institute entrance about 5 minutes before the start of the visit. If someone does not show up at the start of their slot, it will be understood that they give up their place, which may be taken by another interested person.

Registration and image conditions

To preserve confidentiality and the working environment, visitors will not be allowed to take photographs. The organisation will take photos and videos during the event, and attendance implies the transfer of image rights to the Institute of Marine Research (CSIC) for use in internal and external communications.
