The “Meetings Espresso” son the formato of talks that have been taking place in the IIM-CSIC with the aim of getting to know each other better between nós, to better understand the activity carried out at our centre and explore the world of marine science, encouraging scientific and technical discussion and strengthening links between groups onde both research and technical staff can take part for share their work, experiences and results.

Son events designed especially for the our staff, but everyone is invited the join through our streaming broadcast.

This new formato will be held every two weeks, to the 10:00 hours in the Assembly Hall of the IIM-CSIC will be accompanied by complimentary coffee (“Espresso”) for favorecer the bo fluír of the communication.

“Sementando in the sea: New aproximacións and tools for the shellfishing and aquaculture sustainable“.

THE shellfishing and the aquaculture of bivalves están baseados in invertebrados bentóniwith the sedentarios with the forte and persistente estrutura espacial, that require of the deseño of estratexias of manexo espazo-específicas. A plan of manexo espacial adecuado for these resources implica the profundo knowledge, non só of the estrutura espacial of the stocks and of the esforzo fisheries that it carries out in eles, it non also of the fluxos of individuos between sub-poboacións and, by tanto, of the patróns of dispersión larvaria destas species. Non in tanto, the inclusión of termos relativos to the conectividade between sub-poboacións non é frecuentemente incluído in the plans of manexo destes resources, in great parte debido the dificultade of obter estimadores empíriwith the desta variable.

Neste Seminar falaremos of new tools multidisciplares that están comezando the empregarse in Galicia, (uso of drones, models bio-físicos, technicians of marcaxe natural of larvas, etc.), that allow identificar poboacións chave for the reposición of the stocks, así the factores hidrolóxiwith the and ambientais that determinan eses padróns of conectividade. THE uso combinado destas technicians, ofrece the progress prometedor for the inclusión of parámetros of conectividade in the plans of management of these resources, peza imprescindible for conseguir the explotación sustainable of the shellfishing and the aquaculture of bivalves in Galicia.

Laura García Peteiro

Doutora in Bioloxía Marine and Aquaculture (2009) with wide experiencia inter-sectorial and interdisciplinar, tendo traballado in ONGs (SEO-BirdLife), empresas of the sector of the aquaculture (PROINSA S.THE.), centres tecnolóxiwith the (CETMAR), universidades and centres of research nacionais (IIM-CSIC, UVigo) and internacionais (UAveiro-Portugal, OIMB-USA). In the its faceta researcher, mainly especializada in aquaculture of bivalves, patróns of dispersión larvaria, ecoloxía, fisioloxía and management of species sedentarias of interese comercial, destacando the utilización of new technologies for the management integral of the resources natural, the uso of technicians of marcaxe natural (“elemental fingerprinting”), the uso of drones for the monitorización of poboacións of the intermareal rochoso or the aplicación of technicians SIX (Systems of Information Xeográfica) that allow the incorporación of the compoñente espacial in the management of the resources, sendo the shellfishing and the aquaculture of bivalves the their principais fowith the of interese.
