Seminar “Viruses and other risks”

The Galician Network on Emerging Risks in Food Safety (RISEGAL), coordinated by the Spanish National Research Council, has been invited to hold a satellite seminar as part of the 7th International Conference on Food and Environmental Viruses ISFEV.

The event will take place on 16 May at the Faculty of Biology of the University of Santiago de Compostela, from 11:00 to 13:30. Its aim is to present the current situation of several emerging food-safety risks of high scientific and socio-economic importance, in a face-to-face format.

The session will include two virus experts of relevance to the food sector, as well as researchers from the Network:

• Carmina Gallardo, researcher at the National Institute for Agricultural and Food Research and Technology (INIA) and expert in African swine fever virus.
• David Rodríguez Lázaro, researcher at the University of Burgos and expert in hepatitis E virus.
