Project “TIAMAT Climate Change Observatory”, led by CSIC and ICTS SOCIB

The IIM, together with the Institute of Marine Sciences of Andalusia (ICMAN-CSIC) and the Balearic Islands Coastal Observing and Forecasting System (SOCIB ICTS), is launching, with the support of the Autonomous Agency for National Parks, the project “TIAMAT Climate Change Observatory”. Its task is to analyse the impacts of global change on the marine systems of the National Parks network and to develop early-warning tools for extreme climate events, using satellite information and data available since 1982. To this end, the project is committed to incorporating remote sensing into the research, analysis and continuous assessment of the marine systems of the National Parks. The ultimate aim is to make possible the creation of a Marine Observatory on climate change in the National Parks of the Cabrera Archipelago, Doñana and the Atlantic Islands.
