Viral encephalopathy and retinopathy (VER) disease caused by the nerve necrosis virus (NNV) or nodavirus, generates up to 100% mortality in juvenile European sea bass (Dicentrarchus labrax), causing significant economic losses. Therefore, it is necessary to know in depth the transcriptomic response of sea bass to this virus, as well as the mechanisms that are influencing this response, formulate vaccines with new antigens that generate greater protection at lower cost, and also study other model species, such as the zebrafish, with which it is easier to work in the laboratory, points addressed in this Doctoral Thesis.
