My research interest is mainly focused on different activities to advance in the science-based fisheries management for cephalopod species addressing key ecological traits, such as spatial ecology (species distribution models), trophic relationships (stable isotopes analysis, molecular techniques) and behaviour in wild (in situ observations by scuba diving). Such research key points will allow to estimate essential life-history traits (trophic ecology, movement, abundance, mortality, habitat preference, predation) of cephalopods, improving the understanding of factors that affects the long-term sustainability of these socioeconomic important resources. This research will allow solving some of the main ecological unknowns in cephalopods of commercial interest in the wild to advance towards an ecosystem approach for the management of these resources, as well as using the acquired knowledge to enhance the aquaculture of these species.
