Biografía
My background is focused on population genetics and quantitative genetics. My main research line is the use of genomic tools to increase the rate of genetic gain in artificial selection programmes and to maintain genetic variability in conservation programmes for aquaculture species. Involved in FISHBOOST (7th Framework Programme) and MedAID (Horizon H2020). In recent years, I have become interested in the role of microbiota in disease resistance and welfare. I am member of the scientific comitee of the International Society for Animal Genetics (section Genetics and Genomics of Acuaculture Species) and I am currently Associate Editor of the journal Aquaculture.
